Hi friends
How time flies. That's how many festives we've celebrated since the last post on this blog (not to mention Thaipusum, FT day and the works). Time to get this lean mean machine cranked up, oiled, polished and ready to roar again, figuratively at least.
Which brings me to my word of the week, "Presence". Many a time in ministry, in life's crucial moments, in situations of despair, we pray for God's "Presence" to be with us. The word takes its roots from the word "Present". To be present, to be here/there.
We ask that God be present in our ministry, in our times of prayer, in our times of worship, in the crucial moments when we make those big decisions, when we sit for that exam, when we go for that interview, when we are being grilled in that yearly performance appraisal.
But we know for a fact that God is omni-present. He is alpha and omega and He is EVERYWHERE! Psalms 139:7 says we can never flee from His presence and He did guarantee us that when 2 or 3 are gathered in His name, He WILL show up.
Then it appears that its now up to us. Do we continue passing that ball to Him and expect Him to finish the shot? Are we just comfortable always playing assist, or is it time we stepped up and finished of that shot?
Maybe God is asking us about our presence. "Hey, I can see you there but are you REALLY there? Isn't it about time you showed up?"
Let's continue to pray that God will cover us in EVERYTHING that we do; May the Holy Spirit be that guiding presence in all the plans that we make in ministry, worship, family, school, marketplace, relationships and life.
But let us also challenge ourselves to be counted for; not only by our presence but to be truly present! It's time to get this lean mean machine cranked up, oiled, polished and ready to roar again, literally.

Third Anniversary
Grace Klang's Young Adults Fellowship had just celebrated its 3rd Anniversary on the Saturday evening of 26 April 2008 at Cmdr Herbert's beautiful mansion.
The theme of the night was YAF 3:3 (Three years : Three cells). And its corresponding scripture from the Bible was 2 Cor 3:3 'You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.'
Our counterparts from Grace PJ's YA joined in the celebration, together with special guests bro Philip and Ps Henry, our senior pastor.
Highlights of the night include Benny's icebreaker, Ps Henry & Ps John's challenge, the Time Capsule, the wonderful variety of food and the colourful people.
Let the pictures (captured by Zlwin) do the talking here.... click 'View All Images' below to see them all. Enjoy :)

'Relationship' Questions
In anticipation for our YAF Retreat's 'Relationship Enrichment' sessions, we would like you to post some questions that you want Ps John to address.
So what questions do us young adults/college kids have? Can be a few social skills that you wanna develop, can be the vital spiritual elements that will help you grow, can be those burning questions that keep you lying awake thinking about the other person, or can be some biological facts & issues that you're simply curious about! Anything from pre-marital to post-marital, or non-marital (got such term?). But genuine questions, please.
Click on the 'comments' link below and shoot those questions. You don't have to write your name, can post as anonymous. We promise not to track your identity ;)

YAF Retreat 2008
I'm pleased to announce our YAF event of the year, our YAF RETREAT 2008. Definitely not to be missed!
Venue: Eagle Ranch Resort, Port Dickson
Date: May 17-19 (Saturday-Monday)
Amount: RM235 (includes accommodation, food, transport, activities. Non-refundable but transferable)
It's a retreat for us young adults to get away, unwind, relax and enjoy each other's fellowship and with God.
Eagle Ranch is a unique "Home on the Ranch" resort, with its 'East Meets West' (sounds familiar?) styled accommodations, jam-packed with loads of various activities. Complimentary activities include telematch games, Go-Kart, swimming pool, jacuzzi, volleyball, beach volleyball, basketball, futsal. Additional chargeable activities include paintball, horse riding, archery, canoeing (fish pond and sea), rafting, map reading/compass march, tracking, obstacle course, flying fox, absailing etc.
Sounds like plenty of fun! Definitely no boring moments in this retreat.
For the highlight of the retreat, we're having 'Relationship Enrichment' sessions with Ps John. Those who attended his workshop in GY Camp 2007 had a taste of what it's all about.
This is a Grace Young Adults event. So it's open to Grace Klang, PJ & USJ. Ideal time for all of us to mingle around and bond. Places are limited. So register in your respective cell, starting from today.
It's a public holiday weekend, so you don't have to apply for leave, unless to recover from too much fun and overwhelmed with too many new friends you're about to make!

Counting down for the time of the year..
In less than 2 weeks time, we will be celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ!!! Of course, before the celebration, Jesus was crucified on the cross and died for us. There's always some sacrifice before we can celebrate anything. Personally, I feel that this time of the year is much more important than Christmas-the birth of Jesus as the Resurrection day clearly showed how much God loves us and how real he was and he is now.
Last friday, YAF1 was held in my house because Hwai Tah was occupied with personal stuff. Ann shared a very simple message and we discussed about 'Fasting and Praying'. Many people have this misperception that fasting must involve food and food only but actually we can fast from other things that took away our time from God, for example, TV, playstation, certain type of hobby(that become your obsession), meat or even from sleep! The main point of asking you to fast is to spend less time on what you do in the worldly earth and spend more time with the one and only God. Even if you fast from all 3 meals and only drink water everyday, but you never bother to read the Word and pray, what's the whole point? Unless you are on some really desperate diet programme..
The purpose of us fasting varies from asking a simple favour from God or it can be for the peace of the country.. It depends on how much we want it to happen and how much we are willing to go through to let God lead his way.. No matter what is your motive or purpose of fasting, never forget to read your Bible and pray.. Spend some good quality time with the Creator and He will not fail you. If you have no idea on what to pray or what topics to 'talk' to God, you can always pray for our contry since the election has just over.
Good friday is next week and there will be a musical presentation (by the sunday school and Royal Rangers) on God's sacrifices for us- the sinners and also on the Resurrection Sunday about.. what else but the Resurrection! Be sure that you will be in church on these 2 occasions (dont try to ponteng) !!! Till then.. buh bye!
